GB4RNLI

GB4RNLI was operated for the first time in 2009 we believe that this was the first time a special call with a 4 letter suffix. The station was operated in support of the RNLI Save our Soles event. Many contacts were made on the 80m and 40m band in SSB CW and PSK. A special QSL card was produced and numbered in the SSEG QSL series and the cards were generously sponsored by Michael Murray RS 30261 who is a Short Wave Listener. To the left we show Kevin G0NUP enjoying the event awaiting rescue!!

Several amateurs sent in donations with their QSL cards and these were forwarded to the RNLI who expressed their thanks for the generous support. Although propogation during the event was very poor we did our best to work whoever we heard and we apologise to anyone calling the station who we were unable to hear, let us hope you can contact us in 2010.
